Started my career in manufacturing yield analysis (3 years), then moved to IT and Innovation development. Work entailed design and implementation of rapid Proof of Concept (POC) studies to demonstrate business value. Large focus on Internet of Things (IOT) and RFID technologies and their application to improving healthcare and patient wellbeing. Author of Ireland's National Digital Health Strategy published in December 2013. It outlines Ireland's digital health journey over a 7 to 10 year period and identifies the significant benefits realizeable. The strategy is being implemented by a new entity called "eHealth Ireland" . See links below
Intellehealth is a start-up telehealthcare business which I founded in partnership with Philips Corporation in 2011. It is a classic entrepreneurial journey and many obstacles/challenges remain to full commercialisation.
R&D Tax Credit claims preparation, analysis of eligible expenditures and claims auditing for private and public clients including the Revenue Commissioners.
The IHSC project was a pioneering social entrepreneurial project, entirely self funded aimed at demonstrating the potential opportunity of the newly emerging digital healthcare services market for Ireland. This project was a finalist in the "Your Country Your Call" competition in 2010 out of 9,000 entrants.

Long time interest in how Technology can improve treatment of Mental Health issues. Particular interest in Virtual Reality based therapy and its potential to open up a new area of mental health science.
